Oliver D. Mücke received his diploma and PhD in physics from University of Karlsruhe (TH) in 1999 and 2003, respectively. He was a postdoc at M.I.T. (2003-2007) and Vienna University of Technology (2007-2011). His current research interests at CFEL are optical frequency-comb technology and the development of novel parametric pulse sources for attosecond science and extreme nonlinear optics.

Hüseyin Cankaya received his M.Sc. and PhD degree from Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2007 and 2011, respectively. In CFEL, he is currently working on broad bandwidth optical frequency synthesizer and attosecond photonics.

Giovanni Cirmi received his M.Sc. in electronic engineering (2005) and his Ph.D. in physics (2008), both from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. He was a postdoc at Politecnico di Milano (2009) and at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge MA, USA (2009-2011). His research interests focus on the generation of femtosecond and attosecond pulses through nonlinear optics.

Shaobo Fang received his Ph.D. degree from Hokkaido University, Japan, in 2011. His research interests include attosecond science, high-field phenomena, ultra-fast photonics and nonlinear fiber optics. Currently, he is doing research on broadband optical frequency synthesizers and the development of novel parametric pulse sources for attosecond science.

Damian N. Schimpf obtained his Diploma and Ph.D. degree in physics from the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. In 2005, he worked at Imperial College, London, U.K., on the application of ultra-fast fiber lasers to biomedical imaging. His Ph.D. was focused on development of ultra-fast high-power fiber lasers. He was a postdoc at Boston University (2010-2011). His current research interests include cavity design for X-ray generation.

Ming Xin received his PhD degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2010. Now his research interests focus on sub femtosecond precision timing distribution and attosecond photonics.

Qing Zhang received her PhD degree from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2011. At CFEL she is doing research on microwave generation based on Ti: Sapphire oscillators.

Siddharth Bhardwaj received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, with minor in Physics, from University of Southern California in 2007 and his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010. His research focuses on the theory and modeling of laser-atom dynamics in High Harmonics Generation and he is pursuing a PhD degree in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. Currently, he is visiting student at CFEL - DESY.
